How can i avoid vomiting and a big time headache after drinking heavily the night before?
I get big time vomiting of bitter yellow liquids, abdominal spasms, headache, weakness when i wake up after a drinking spree. How can I avoid this? I guess its not nomal, since most people do not experience these when they drink a lot. It is like a hangover, but an extereme form. I am just really so tired of this from happening everytime I have a good time with friends.

- drink water or gatorade before going to bed...........and it's sound crazy, but eat a banana - i haven't had a hangover since i tried this!! whatever you do - DO NOT take tylenol after drinking - the two combined can cause renal failure! **to the RN who says tylenol doesn't cause renal failure - that's funny, i had a best friend DYE from it at age 23...........it can also cause liver failure...........and i am also a medical professional with a B.S. degree...........
- Here is an Idea, DON'T DRINK SO MUCH!!! Pace yourself...and Tylenol and alcohol do not cause renal failure...it can cause liver failure!
- I think the best way to avoid this is to not drink at all... Sry but if thats not an option you might want to not drink as much when you are on your spree. You should get that checked out by a professional.
- ur drinking WAY too much or ur mixing too many different kinds of drinks. cut it down just a little bit and then u wont get sick. or try this...after u r finished drinking, right before u go to bed, take some pepto bismol or mylanta. that should calm ur stomach down. and also take some when u wake up too. good luck. by the way having another beer in the morning does not cure a hang over
- hmmm well here is a very simple answer get your butt to rehab and stop drinking!
- Drinking water or gatorade can help you feel better the next day, but they won't get you sober any faster. Definitely avoid tylenol, as the first poster mentioned. In the future, try to learn what your limits are. The best way to avoid the next-day hangover is to drink less the night before.
- Eat healthy meals, and drink less alcohol. Try ordering less potent drinks than your buddies or space your alcohol consumption with non-alcoholic drinks. If you cannot do this, you are addicted to alcohol, and worse times are headed your way. So see if you can control it now. Good luck.
- I get similar hangovers so I hear your pain!! The way I've learnt to (mostly) avoid them is: before you go out drink a banana yoghurt smoothie or eat cheese, something to line the stomach; then while out make every second drink water; when you get home drink a mixture of one part juice or softdrink to 3 parts water - you hydrate better with some sugar in the water; and finally take nurofen as soon as you go to bed then every 4 hours, and keep the sweet water mixture up. I've a friend who swears by taking 5-6 oil of evening primrose tablets over a course of an evenings drinking but I can't vouch for this. Good luck and stay safe!
