Vomits

How long do puppies go through teething for?

I think my puppy just started teething at 6 months old. He loves biting stuff all day long. When he bites harder stuff his gums sometimes bleed a little. Is this normal and what do I do when he bleeds? Does teething mean he is growing molars or that he is losing front baby teeth?

  1. depends on the dog, may go from a few months, to a when its a year old, part of it depends on the training you do with your dog, if it knows to chew on its toys, then just let it do that, but if its gets worse, and go's to furniture or other things, than train him, and correct him not to do that.
  2. puppies go through a couple of chewing phases. By 7 months they should be done with the second phase.
  3. they teeth?
  4. It depends on the breed and the individual dog. Most breeds have lost their puppy teeth and are getting or have gotten their adult teeth by the time they are 5 months old. This can vary a bit by breed and dog, but that's a good average. Some dogs are chewers and never do outgrow that. I've had dogs in the past that never did chew, some that stopped by the time they were a year, and others that were still big chewers well up into their old age. They can bite/chew out of boredom. They can do it for play. Some are just plain ornery. Ha! And some do it out of aggression. So there are a lot of factors that go into this. I would suggest offering him safe chew toys. His gums are obviously sensitive and harder things may cause them to bleed. Offering safe options is a way to avoid that until he is a little older.
