What are some teething relief tricks or remedies that really work for babies?
I have a five month old and i just want to know what otherpeople do for teething? Is there a certain herbal remedy or medicine or something that really works out there? I already have the orajel and teething rings and the wash cloth thing. But is there any other hidden medicines out there that would work and make her not wake up in the night from teething?

- Hyland's Teething Tablets, by far, work the absolute best!!!! http://www.hylands.com/products/teething.php We tried all of what you had mentioned, among other things, and these work the best. They are all natural so if you don't think she's getting relief, you can give her more in a half hour or so so that she is getting the relief. They simply dissolve on the tongue. They work amazing! We are sure to give my son 3 tablets before bed time when he's teething and he doesn't wake! ^_^
- I used super cold baby carrots, they were hard and my kids could chew on them. YOu have to choose fat ones so they don't accidentally bite off a piece.
- What my mom use to do for me is she would buy those teething jelly packs, and stick them in the refridgerator, then once they were frozen, she would give them to me to bite on.
- honestly i have tried every thing and any thing and sometimes the only trick for my daughter was to comfort her and sadly suffer with her. my daughter never liked the wash cloth unless it was warm. she never cared for the cold wash clothes. the teething rings would help during day but obviously she couldn't do that at night time. orajel helped BIG time at night but still wouldn't work 100%. have you tried teething tablets before she goes to bed? for some babies it works and other's it don't. you could also do motrin/tylenol. i found the motrin helped better than tylenol but tylenol has never really helped my daughter. i've also done sugar water (just small amounts). uhm popcycles as well (small amounts again). and that's about all i've personally done but sometimes comforting is about all you can do.
- one i have always known about, and if your the superstitious kind you will try this. my mother tried this on me, my brother, my sister, and my cousin and it worked, find your self an snake, preferably a rattle snake, kill it, take its spinal bones, and loop them through a red string, that should do the trick, always worked for me.
- Hylands Teething tablets are working really well for my daughter and they are homeopathic, all-natural. They do contain bella donna, which is an herbal sedative, but it is in a very trace amount. (I still use them after doing some research on it, but just like to warn other people so they know about it too.) I use the frozen washcloth during the day, but the teething tablets at night since it gives her enough relief she can actually sleep a couple hours. On a really bad night I would use a little infant tylenol, which was definitely the most effective. I just didn't want to use it too often.
- They make little feeder bags for babies who want to taste stuff and not actually eat them. They are about 3 inches long and are attached to a handle. Keep an apple in the fridge and then put a semi-thick slice in one of these pouches and let the baby gum it a while. Not only does it cool and soothe, but he or she gets to have a sweet taste of apple while doing so - all without fear of any actually coming off and getting in her mouth. You can also chill peach wedges or pear slices and do the same. All healthy and soothing.
- I give my daughter cold formula and that seems to help a lot! Since she's been teething, she sometimes has a hard time eating and cold formula has pretty much nipped that in the bud.
- Baby tylenol or advil
- If night time is the problem then give her some Calpol before bedtime. Apart from medicines and teething soothers see if it helps to just hold her close to you.
